What's up with the name "Great Bear"?
Glad you asked! Great Bear refers to the Great Bear constellation of stars with a view that, if you can see the Great Bear constellation, you're never that far from home.
Why did Great Bear start?
Our founding team were tired of overpriced, tacky tees and hoodies that represented our home country.
As Streetwear Enthusiasts, we wanted to be able to wear a high quality hoodie whilst also celebrating our true colours. So we blended the two together and made designs for every country in the world.
What's different about your hoodies?
Most of the hoodies that represent your country are poor quality and poorly designed. We've all bought them and we've all been there.
When we connected our hoodies, we wanted to create simple but stunning designs overlaid with streetwear style and quality.. creating a hoodie that can be worn on any occasion as part of any outfit.
What do the hoodies feel like?
It took us 6 months to find the right fabrics from the right suppliers, and we're proud to say that all hoodies offer 500gsm luxury cotton, similar to what you would expect from your favourite designers and streetwear brands.
How do the hoodies fit?
Each release is a limited edition, so there may be slight variances in the hoodie style. Our 2024 hoodies ran at a supersize fit whereas our 2025 hoodies run to a regular fit. Please check the size charts or if you have any further questions, feel free to email us at connect@great-bear.vip
What type of people wear the hoodies?
Great question! Whilst anyone can wear any of our hoodies, we recommend buying the hoodie that speaks to your identity. We created this brand to help people feel proud of their identity and close to their community in colours that would ignite a sense of pride for the country we call home.
Why embroidery? Why not screen print?
We wanted to created hoodies that would stand out, unlike anything that had been done before on the market. Screen print didn't suit the hoodie style so we opted for high thread count embroidery.
Are you using Sustainable practices?
Common question! We've adopted slow fashion practices to reduce waste - things like pre-orders to determine demand and embroidery to increase product longevity.
What is the NOSTOS Community Fund?
Yes - the question we've been waiting for. When we set up this business we felt like planting trees with every order - whilst good for the planet - didn't directly impact our community.
Most of our community live in a country different to the one they or their parents were born in, and we know that getting home costs money. So, we created the NOSTOS Foundation which receives 5% of our profits, and the funds are spent helping people afford life-changing round trip flights home.
